Gratitude to salt and a little nod to Spring!

Click this link for the salt article that I’d like to you read about the real deal regarding salt. It’s like I’ve long believed. It’s not always just about what you eat. It’s also about the QUALITY of what you eat. I have been working on an article in this regard, because of my cucumber experience. I had the opportunity more by serendipity than mental planning where I had 3 cucumbers together. 1 was conventionally grown (a.k.a. with pesticides, etc.), one was grown organically (a.k.a. without pesticides, etc.) and the 3rd was grown in my garden (a.k.a. without pesticides and tended with love, etc.). The side by side taste difference was astounding:
1. The conventionally grown cucumber was slightly mushy with just a touch of al dente and absolutely no taste. As a matter of fact, it was a touch bitter. Cucumbers are not bitter.
2. The organically grown cucumber had better crisp to it and tasted much better than the conventionally grown. At that point in my experience of home grown vegetables (this experience was about 6 years ago), organic from the store was the best I’d had.
3. The homegrown cucumber was so crisp it snapped and had a sweetness to it that just can’t be described. It has to be experienced. A little celtic sea salt and the cucumber was perfect. I’ve been using selina brand celtic sea salt for about 7 yrs now.
Gentle Tiger-ites, start a revolution – grow your own garden. Spring is around the corner and it’s peeking at you.
