The evidence is mounting – ORGANIC coconut oil is good for you – check out the alzheimer’s and OCO video!

by on Jan.31, 2012, under Acupuncture/OM, Nutrition

I am so DANGED excited about this video. This supports all the stuff I’ve been telling you about organic coconut oil and validates what I’m certain of:

1. Healing/preventing from illness is often a matter of keeping your awareness up and paying attention.

2. AND healing may be difficult to face, but once you’ve made the decision to go through your own processes, healing is not hidden and esoteric only to be performed by institutions with big degrees and lots of money.

Notes about the video:

1. It appears Dr. Newport uses a microwave to melt Steve’s (her husband) OCO. I am big OPPONENT of microwaves. I’ll give you a link in this month’s e-newsletter

that speaks to that.

2. When it highlights the “hydrogenated cottonseed oil”, you can see “high fructose corn syrup” right above it. When I go back and watch the video again, I’m sure I’ll see more awful ingredients, but that was the one caught my eye the first time. One of the details about HFCS is that it prematurely ages your liver. I’ll also have a link in this month’s e-newsletter about why you should quit soda – stay tuned true believers.

Gratitude to salt and a little nod to Spring!

by on Mar.02, 2011, under Acupuncture/OM, Nutrition

Click this link for the salt article that I’d like to you read about the real deal regarding salt. It’s like I’ve long believed. It’s not always just about what you eat. It’s also about the QUALITY of what you eat. I have been working on an article in this regard, because of my cucumber experience. I had the opportunity more by serendipity than mental planning where I had 3 cucumbers together. 1 was conventionally grown (a.k.a. with pesticides, etc.), one was grown organically (a.k.a. without pesticides, etc.) and the 3rd was grown in my garden (a.k.a. without pesticides and tended with love, etc.). The side by side taste difference was astounding:

1. The conventionally grown cucumber was slightly mushy with just a touch of al dente and absolutely no taste. As a matter of fact, it was a touch bitter. Cucumbers are not bitter.

2. The organically grown cucumber had better crisp to it and tasted much better than the conventionally grown. At that point in my experience of home grown vegetables (this experience was about 6 years ago), organic from the store was the best I’d had.

3. The homegrown cucumber was so crisp it snapped and had a sweetness to it that just can’t be described. It has to be experienced.  A little celtic sea salt and the cucumber was perfect. I’ve been using selina brand celtic sea salt for about 7 yrs now.

Gentle Tiger-ites, start a revolution – grow your own garden. Spring is around the corner and it’s peeking at you. :)

Acupuncture and exercise help women with PCOS

by on Feb.07, 2011, under Acupuncture/OM

Hello Gentle Tiger-ites, I found this eye-opening article about Oriental Medicine and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and felt I needed to share it with  you. What is PCOS?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (say “pah-lee-SIS-tik OH-vuh-ree SIN-drohm”) is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS may also cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it is not treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as (continue reading…)
