I am so DANGED excited about this video. This supports all the stuff I’ve been telling you about organic coconut oil and validates what I’m certain of:

1. Healing/preventing from illness is often a matter of keeping your awareness up and paying attention.

2. AND healing may be difficult to face, but once you’ve made the decision to go through your own processes, healing is not hidden and esoteric only to be performed by institutions with big degrees and lots of money.

Notes about the video:

1. It appears Dr. Newport uses a microwave to melt Steve’s (her husband) OCO. I am big OPPONENT of microwaves. I’ll give you a link in this month’s e-newsletter

that speaks to that.

2. When it highlights the “hydrogenated cottonseed oil”, you can see “high fructose corn syrup” right above it. When I go back and watch the video again, I’m sure I’ll see more awful ingredients, but that was the one caught my eye the first time. One of the details about HFCS is that it prematurely ages your liver. I’ll also have a link in this month’s e-newsletter about why you should quit soda – stay tuned true believers.

It’s like I’ve long believed. It’s not always just about what you eat. It’s also about the QUALITY of what you eat. I have been working on an article in this regard, because of my cucumber experience. I had the opportunity more by serendipity than mental planning where I had 3 cucumbers together. 1 was conventionally grown (a.k.a. with pesticides, etc.), one was grown organically (a.k.a. without pesticides, etc.) and the 3rd was grown in my garden (a.k.a. without pesticides and tended with love, etc.). The side by side taste difference was astounding:

1. The conventionally grown cucumber was slightly mushy with just a touch of al dente and absolutely no taste. As a matter of fact, it was a touch bitter. Cucumbers are not bitter.

2. The organically grown cucumber had better crisp to it and tasted much better than the conventionally grown. At that point in my experience of home grown vegetables (this experience was about 6 years ago), organic from the store was the best I’d had.

3. The homegrown cucumber was so crisp it snapped and had a sweetness to it that just can’t be described. It has to be experienced. A little celtic sea salt and the cucumber was perfect. I’ve been using selina brand celtic sea salt for about 7 yrs now.

Gentle Tiger-ites, start a revolution – grow your own garden. Spring is around the corner and it’s peeking at you.

What is PCOS?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (say “pah-lee-SIS-tik OH-vuh-ree SIN-drohm”) is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS may also cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it is not treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (or PCOS) is common, affecting as many as 1 out of 15 women. Often the symptoms begin in the teen years. (source: http://women.webmd.com/tc/polycystic-ovary-syndrome-pcos-topic-overview)

I also know from clinical experience that dietary changes and chinese medical herb formulae can help with PCOS. If you’re having issues with this, please give us a call. 608.204.0100 x-1 And now on to the article…

Acupuncture and physical exercise improve hormone levels and menstrual bleeding pattern in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), reveals research from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

PCOS is a common disorder that affects up to 10% of all women of child-bearing age. Women with PCOS frequently have irregular ovulation and menstruation, with many small immature egg follicles in the ovaries. This causes the ovaries to produce more testosterone which, in turn, leads to troublesome hair growth and acne. Obesity, insulin resistance resistance and cardiovascular disease are also widespread among these patients. In the current study, published in the American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism, a group of women with PCOS were given acupuncture where the needles were stimulated both manually and with a weak electric current at a ”VERY” low frequency that was, to some extent, similar to muscular work. A second group was instructed to exercise at least three times a week, while a third group acted as controls. All were given information on the importance of regular exercise and a healthy diet.

“The study shows that both acupuncture and exercise reduce high levels of testosterone and lead to more regular menstruation,” says docent associate professor Elisabet Stener-Victorin, who is responsible for the study. “Of the two treatments, the acupuncture proved more effective.”

Although PCOS is a common disorder, researchers do not know exactly what causes it.

“However, we’ve recently demonstrated that women with PCOS have a highly active sympathetic nervous system, the part that isn’t controlled by our will, and that both acupuncture and regular exercise reduced levels of activity in this system compared with the control group, which could be an explanation for the results.”
