Gentle Tiger Acupuncture

Gentle Tiger Community Acupuncture – All you Need to Know…

Community acupuncture offers low-cost care in a group setting. It offers easy access to acupuncture treatment, allows families and friends to be treated together, and facilitates the comfort of healing with others rather than in isolation.

Some unique aspects to community acupuncture that you’ll notice:

  • You do not need to undress for your treatment. You just need to roll your sleeves up to your elbows and your pants up to your knees. Please wear loose clothing. There is a bathroom down the hall if you need to change.

  • Instead of an extended private conversation before your treatment, your acupuncturist will assess you quietly and briefly while you are in the treatment chair.

  • You will not be the only person getting treatment in the room – you’ll be part of a bigger healing process.

  • Your treatment will last 30-40 minutes. Your initial treatment which includes paperwork and initial assessment, will be closer to 75 minutes.

  • You pay according to a sliding scale fee schedule – $15 to $35 – keeping in mind that you may need a series of treatments before you feel the results you want.

  • If the cost of treatment is an issue, please let us know. We want you to come in for acupuncture frequently enough and regularly enough to really feel better.

  • We don’t bill insurances. If you have insurance that covers acupuncture, we can give you a receipt to submit, but we cannot bill your insurance for you.

Some things you’ll want to be aware of as you receive your acupuncture:

  • Acupuncture is a process. Although many feel a difference after their first treatment, there’s no “miracle cure”. Most people need a series of treatments to get good results (which is why we use a sliding scale). If you don’t come in often enough or long enough, acupuncture probably won’t work well for you. Your acupuncturist will suggest a treatment plan to you, recommending how many treatments you will need to get good results.

  • You can bring, within reason, whatever you need to make yourself comfortable – such as earplugs or headphones. Your personal belongings stay with you in the treatment room.

  • Community needs some flexibility. Many different kinds of people enjoy coming here for acupuncture – some make more noise than others. We invite you to be tolerant of others.
